Psychiatric Evaluation
Psychiatric evaluation is designed to diagnose emotional, behavioral, or developmental conditions or disorders. The initial evaluation will explore many aspects including developmental history, medical history, family history, social and environmental influences, academic/work concerns, and emotional and cognitive (thinking) strengths and weaknesses. After the evaluation, treatment options will be discussed, and psychiatric medications may be prescribed. Psychotherapy (talk therapy) may also be recommended.
The goal of a medication management appointment is to review benefits, progress towards goals, current symptoms, lab results, and assess for any side effects from the prescribed medications. Adjustments to medications will be made if needed
